About Tanzania Safaris

Zebra

Why choose Tanzania wildlife safaris out of all the African countries where you can go on safari?

Due to a strong awareness of conservation, Tanzania has many restrictions, such as no off-roading (you must not go off the road to chase animals), no highways within the parks (the roads within the parks are paved, but are gravel or dirt), and no drones are allowed (they are not permitted except for special cases such as television filming). However, this is also why it is a country where you can see wild animals in their natural state.

I'll narrow it down to three more.

Features of Tanzania Safari

A variety of stunning views and biodiversity

Lilac-breasted roller at Tarangire N.P

The Great Rift Valley, which runs north and south across the African continent, offers a wide variety of natural landscapes, from hot and humid tropical rainforests, to the 2,400m high crater rim (the same altitude as the 5th station of Mt. Fuji), to the dry savanna plains. You can also observe all kinds of plants and animals that live in these diverse environments.

Serengeti National Park

Elephants and wildebeest

This is one of the largest nature conservation areas in East Africa. Rare cats such as leopards, cheetahs, lions, and caracals live here. Large animals such as elephants, giraffes, buffalo, and hippos are also frequently seen here. This park is also where you can see the great migration of wildebeest. The births in the south in February and March, and the river crossings in the north in August and September are worth seeing.

Sunset at Savannah Land

Tanzania has a relatively good public safety record, due to political stability, the national character of avoiding conflict, and the fact that the gap between rich and poor has not widened dramatically. As the country focuses on tourism, there are a relatively large number of decent hotels that focus on cleanliness, hospitality, and food. Many people speak English slowly and in simple words, making it easy for travelers to understand.

The Tour

There are an infinite number of plans depending on the number of days you stay, the season, your purpose, and your preferences. Also, the flight time from Your Country is about 24 hours one way, including transfers, so the total number of vacation days will be the number of days you stay at the destination, plus 2 days or more.

General recommended Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport

Day 1 Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport

Day 1 Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport

Welcoming at Kilimanjaro International Airport

Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport in the afternoon by your Airways. A driver will meet you at the airport with a paper with your name on it. Drive for 1.5 to 2 hours to Arusha city. Dinner at the hotel.

During a safari, you are likely to become physically inactive due to the long hours of driving, so after a full day of flying, it is recommended that you stay in Arusha for two nights and take a stroll through the lush mountain foothills and interact with the local people to get in shape.

Hotels: The African Tulip, Ilboru Haven Homes, etc.

Meals: -- Dinner

Day 2 Ngorongoro Crater

Day 1 Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport

Day 1 Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport

Zabra's

We drove to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, crossing Lake Manyara and the Great Rift Valley (3.5 hours on a paved road to the park gate). After entering the park, the road is rough. After lunch, we went on safari. You can also change the safari in Ngorongoro to Tarangire National Park. We also recommend having lunch at Ngorongoro Lodge Melia Collection while enjoying the spectacular view of the Ngorongoro Crater, and then heading straight to the Serengeti.

Hotels: Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge, Ngorongoro Lodge Meliá Collection, etc.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner

For safaris in the southern Serengeti and Ndutu in February to April, and safaris to see wildebeest migrating in the northern Serengeti in August to September, you will need to add 2 to 3 nights. It is possible to reduce the total number of days by traveling by light aircraft (Cessna) round trip or one-way between Arusha and Serengeti. Please contact us for details.
